Don't let errors show up AFTER it's published!
The beauty about self-publishing is that if you do find an error after your book is published, we can go back, fix it and republish, but my aim is to make sure that doesn't happen. (I'm only human you know!)
I check for spelling, grammar, punctuation, spacing, missing words, etc. Though I no longer edit, especially DEEP editing, I still have a knack for things to just pop out at me. And when I spot something, I will let you know.
One thing most authors are notorious for, is double spacing between sentences. Ugh. I go back through it all and take those out. When we (people my age) learned to type in school, we were taught to double space between sentences. But when computers and Microsoft Office Word came out, all that went out the window.
Ah, the good ol' times, eh?
So keep that in mind when you submit your manuscript. If you've already done it, no worries. I will remove all double spacing between words and sentences.
And some authors don't know this: Novellas are usually 30,000 words whereas Novels are usually 80,000 words.
Most authors are using the 6 x 9 sized books now, but other sizes are still available, so think about what size you would like your book to be when submitting to me. Because I will ask you if you want 6 x 9, standard now, or maybe 5 x 8, etc. These are called "trim size".
YES, I can do it all. From something you typed in a word document to a formatted book interior, design a cover to fit the book contents, and help you get it published in softcover, hardcover and e-book. And when we're done with your project and you order a copy for yourself, you'll be able to see your book, finished and ready to sell!
I'm so excited!
